CARMEL, IN (September 21, 2022)Dreyer & Reinbold Racing – JC Raceteknik announced today a partnership with American racing driver, Andrew Carlson, to compete in the Nitro Rallycross (Nitro RX) event in Elk River, Minnesota at ERX Motor Park in the No. 15 Group E rallycross car.

Carlson grew up racing snowmobiles from a young age and became a factory Polaris Snocross racer. During his time on a sled, he competed in three X Games. However, in 2014, Carlson moved on to The Off-Road Championship (TORC) to keep busy during the warmer months of the year and his motorsports career took off.

Carlson amassed wins in the Pro Lite and Pro-4 categories and has quickly become one of the top Pro-4 drivers in the Short Course series. In 2020, he won the Pro Mod UTV World Cup Championship. Additionally, Carlson competed in the Supercar division of Nitro RX last year at ERX Motor Park.

Carlson, whose family owns and operates ERX Motor Park, will be a hometown favorite in Minnesota. Obviously, he has immense track time and is poised for a great result.

“Just counting my laps on the track during a sanctioned event would be over 500 laps,” said Carlson.  “Once you add practice laps, over the last 7 years, that would put me north of 3500 laps.”

Carlson is ready to put his track knowledge to the test as Nitro RX returns to ERX Motor Park where Carlson participated in the Supercar division. He is looking to capitalize on this while experiencing the new FC1-X.

“I’m very excited to get into a car that is going to be closer to the weight and power level of the offroad truck I am used to racing. The fact that the FC1-X is a spec car is cool because it allows guys that haven’t raced the earlier races, like myself, to know that we are not going to be way off on the vehicle setup.”

Team owner Dennis Reinbold is pleased to have Carlson join the program in Minnesota.

“We are very happy to have Andrew join us for his home event at ERX Motor Park,” said Reinbold, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team owner. “Andrew has thousands of laps around ERX Motor Park and we anticipate him to be quick out of the gate. His intimate track knowledge should provide him a boost as gets familiar with the FC1-X.”

Carlson will race alongside DRR JC teammates, Robin Larsson and Andreas Barkkerud, as well as DRR racer, Fraser McConnell.

The next round of the Nitro RX tour is scheduled for October 1-2 in Elk River, Minnesota. Racing action can be found on Peacock in the United States and on YouTube for the rest of the world.
