CARMEL, IN (May 26, 2022) – Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announced today the partnership with young Jamaican rallycross star Fraser McConnell to compete in the 2022 Nitro Rallycross (Nitro RX) series with the all-new FC1-X All-Electric rallycross car.

Driving the DRR entry in the ten-event Nitro RX campaign, McConnell, 23, moves into the new Group E division after impressive performances in the United States and Europe in recent seasons including capturing the 2019 ARX2 series championship.

McConnell, who began his motorsports career at age eleven in karting, motocross and rally events, was twice named Jamaican Driver of the Year and won at the prestigious Dover racetrack at age 16. He then became the first Jamaica driver to win a motorsports championship with the 2019 ARX2 title.

Fraser became the first Jamaican driver to win a Supercar race in the highly competitive RallyX Nordic League last year by defeating three-time FIA World Champion, Johan Kristoffersson in Nysyum, Denmark.

“We are very pleased to have Fraser join our Nitro RX effort this season,” said Dennis Reinbold, DRR team owner. “We are very familiar with Fraser background and driving skills as our team competed against him in the ARX2 championship. Fraser has recently shown his talents by winning in the very tough Supercar division in the RallyX Nordic league. The new FC1-X Group E machines are very exciting, and we look forward to having Fraser compete for victories in 2022-23.”

“I’m super excited to be a part of this new electric era in Group E for a full season with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing,” said McConnell.  “I will also be racing the European rounds of Nitro in the Supercar category which is promising to be really fun!”

The expanded NRX series, which features unique dirt and pavement tracks, features ten races staged in six countries, including Sweden, Finland, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Nitro RX will then bridge the calendar year to culminate in March 2023 with a championship event held in the U.S. Nitro RX will grow beyond its roots in outdoor dirt tracks, with competition on tarmac, inside stadiums, through street circuits and over snow and ice for a diverse range of race environments.

The ten-event Nitro RX tour is scheduled for June 18-19 in England; July 30-31 in Sweden; August 27-28 in Finland; October 1-2 in Minneapolis, MN; October 29-30 in Los Angeles, CA; November 12-13 in Phoenix, AZ; December 10-11 in Saudi Arabia; January 21-22, 2023, in Quebec, CAN; February 4-5 in Alberta, CAN; and March 2023 in the U.S. with the Nitro RX Season Finale.
