Roger Yasukawa Teams With Dreyer & Reinbold For Indy Japan 300

Indianapolis - Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announced today that Roger Yasukawa will join the team later this fall when the IndyCar Series makes its annual trip to the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Japan to pilot a second entry alongside team regular Mike Conway.
Yasukawa said, "I started talking with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing right after the Indy 500 last year and finally came to an agreement. The team has geared up their engineering staff this year, and I am very confident that we are going to be competitive in the race. I would like to thank Dennis (Reinbold) and Robbie (Buhl) for giving me this opportunity." In 38 IndyCar Series starts, 18 of which with Dreyer & Reinbold, Yasukawa has finished in the top-ten nine times with a best finish of seventh (twice). The Japanese-American is a fan-favorite among the locals at the Twin Ring Circuit, and those involved within the team are enthusiastic about putting Yawukawa on the track.
"We love going to race in Japan every year," team co-owner Dennis Reinbold said. "To be a part of a program to put Roger on the grid in front of his home crowd makes us excited. The Japanese fans are very enthusiastic, and that energy is infectious. We couldn't be happier to be a part of that pride when we race in the Indy Japan 300 in September with Mike (Conway) and Roger (Yasukawa)." The September 19th event will mark Yawukawa's fifth IndyCar Series start at Twin Ring Motegi. For more information about Yasukawa, visit his website at www.rogeryasukawa.com.
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing enters its 10th season of full-time competition in 2009, making it one of the longest-tenured teams in Indy Racing League competition. Current co-owners Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl first teamed in full-time competition at the Walt Disney World Speedway in January of 2000. With Buhl behind the wheel, the two owners tasted victory in their debut race. The 2009 IndyCar Series season-opener on the streets of St. Petersburg on April 3-5 will mark Dreyer & Reinbold Racing's 200th series start. In its history, the team has boasted a championship list of alumni drivers. Besides Buhl, the team has run Indianapolis 500 winners Al Unser Jr., Buddy Lazier, and Buddy Rice, along with IndyCar Series race winner Ryan Briscoe. The team has one of the longest lines of heritage in American open-wheel racing and the Indianapolis 500 as Dennis Reinbold's grandfather "Pop" Dreyer built leading cars that raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
