  • Lotus and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing reached an amicable resolution to end their agreement. The two entities had entered into a contract back in November for Lotus to be the team's engine supplier in the IZOD IndyCar Series. Lotus remains completely committed to IndyCar and has worked diligently to rise to the challenge. Given the circumstances of the regulatory requirement to supply multiple teams, the late timing of Lotus' entry and the unanticipated difficulties caused by the change of ownership, Lotus made the decision to reduce the number of cars it runs. As a result, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing ran the Lotus engine for the final time in Brazil.
  • This week it was announced that the Indianapolis-based squad has united with two-time IndyCar Series champion Panther Racing to form a strategic alliance on Oriol Servia's entry for the remainder of the 2012 season. The No. 22 Panther/DRR team will utilize Panther's second Chevrolet engine lease and work in conjunction with the No. 4 National Guard team and driver JR Hildebrand beginning with this month's 96th Running of the Indianapolis 500.

Oriol Servia, No. 22 Panther DRR, on the Indianapolis 500: "Everybody loves Indy and everyone looks forward to that race. I was lucky last year to be able to have an even better experience at this race. I started at the front and in the middle of the race we led 20 laps, which made me feel what it must be like to win this race and it gave me a little taste. I couldn't be more excited to be in it again and to be with a great team. The first four races were amazing in the sense that we are stronger and have really gelled. Now that we are partnering with a very successful team, especially at Indy, and with Chevy, I honestly feel like we have a great shot. With a 500-mile race and at Indy, we all know that anything can happen and I think that we are very prepared for anything that does happen. I couldn't be more excited to start the process and to begin practice on Saturday."

Back on Track: Panther DRR will be back on track this weekend for practice for the 96th Running of the Indianapolis 500. Qualifying will be telecast live on the NBC Sports Network. Please visit www.dreyerreinboldracing.com for more updates.
